Description
In Motion #2 captures a moment of airborne movement, exploring the lightness, extension and expressive control of the body in motion. The elegant hop suspends the figure between take-off and landing, drawing attention to the relationship between gesture, balance and space.
Part of In Motion, an earlier series of works exploring the physical language and expressive possibilities of gymnastics through drawing. The series helped establish the visual language and confidence that would inform my subsequent ProPriOception project and its investigation into proprioception and embodied experience.
