The first artwork in a series of (at present) 16, under the overall title 'Conversations With Time'... There are four artworks for each location and each work uses an effigy discovered in a country church - often half hidden and forgotten - as its starting point, with the image being developed over time.
The figure from the church in Turvey, in Bedfordshire, was one of several small figures supporting a larger tomb. Each of the locations has a small prose piece written specifically for that location and incorporated into the artwork.
Archival inks on an aluminium panel. In an edition of 5 at this size. For commissions and customised prints resized, etc., please do get in touch.

After living in New York, and then half a lifetime in London, I now live and work in the wilds of the South Pennines - producing work which I hope invites the viewer to reconsider, perhaps, their own relationship to our wondrous world - both real and imagined.
The landscape works are both photographically documented walk-based pieces, as well as earthstain paintings. And time is explored through the use of manipulated imagery, derived from often forgotten monuments and figures, found in some of the small country churches dotted across our landscape.
